Red Ribbon Week will be celebrated during the week of October 24-28. Red Ribbon Week is celebrated to raise awareness of the dangers of substance abuse. Camerena was a Mexican immigrant to California, a Marine veteran who became a special agent with the Drug Enforcement Agency to help stop the drug trade into the United States.
