Dear Levelland ISD Staff and Parents,

       The administrators from all campuses convened in person and virtually this morning to make plans to continue education services to our students during this time.  As has been the case throughout this situation, our best made plans can be changed at any time.  Levelland ISD will continue to communicate with you frequently to keep you aware of our current status.

       As the Governor has cancelled school until April 3, we are asked to continue to provide services to our students.  There are implications for parents, students and staff as we tackle this challenge that has been placed upon us.  We are very much aware that this provides an added responsibility to parents.  In addition, our staff will be quickly converting our “in school” instruction to “at home” and “online.”  This is new to staff as well.  To protect our community, we are all working together to keep everyone safe.  Our new online platform will be called “Home4Learning.”

       Here is the current plan.  The administration and staff will begin as early as tomorrow to officially meet with staff to make plans for the various classes.  By Friday, the principals will communicate via Skylert how each campus will proceed.  For the most part, we will be moving toward technology to provide instruction. 

Some specifics include:

·         A questionnaire will be sent to families electronically to determine if there are some technology and/or internet needs in your home.  If so, arrangements can be made for some sharing of equipment.  The district does not currently have a device for every child so the information gathered in this survey will help determine the actual needs.  Please complete the following questionnaire only once for your family.  Here is the link to the questionnaire:  https://forms.gle/xPCq8UCGxNJrKgSH8.  If you are unable to access the questionnaire, please call the office of your child’s school as soon as possible.

·         Meals will continue to be served to any student 18 years or younger in our community.  Meals may be picked up outside the Levelland Intermediate Cafeteria.  Please use the bus lane on the west side—door #16.  Meals are available between 7:15 and 10:00 a.m. daily.  The Friday meal package will provide for breakfast and lunch for Friday and the weekend. 

·         Staff will be making phone contact with all of our students between March 25 and March 30.  Our information comes from Skyward so it is essential that we have your current contact numbers and email.

       We do not know what the future holds.  We will continually plan and put into place what we feel is best for Levelland ISD students and staff.  Thank you all for helping us to work through this process in the best way possible.
