Esports at LHS

LHS students in Mrs. April Austin's Esports class are learning a variety of useful skills, including management, production, broadcasting,& programming, as well as promoting collaboration & communication among student-athletes. Her Esports students are developing deeper levels of involvement & more effective communication through games, preparing them for the real world. Through these digital media projects, Mrs. Austin's students are learning how to facilitate meetings, serve as team leaders, manage project timelines, give & receive constructive criticism, & are producing professional products. Esports also provides scholarships to assist students in covering the cost of their college education! Colleges now provide Esports programs for students, opening up a new feasible route to higher education for individuals who may not have previously thought about it. These students are just like other sports teams that do well in the regular season & qualify for playoffs in the postseason. Mrs. Austin's students compete across conferences so they will compete against schools that are 4A, 5A, & 6A. The Esports market is rising. This LHS class enables students to become pro players where several new jobs are being developed. Wow! This is amazing Mrs. Austin! Thank you, for offering what others don't!
