Soil Study

LIS 4th-Grade students in Mrs. Sanders' Sciences classes were caught learning about soil and how different types of soil retain water through a lab experiment. They learned that soils with smaller particles (silt and clay) have a larger surface area than those with larger sand particles, and a large surface area allows the soil to hold more water. Mrs. Sanders, we appreciate you always making the learning hands-on so that students remember what they've learned! Way to go!
