LHS UIL Coach Scott Lawson congratulates his students who participated in the District Academic UIL Meet yesterday in Big Spring. Five students earning first or second place and the Computer Science team earning first place will move on to the Regional Meet in April at Texas Tech University. Austin Ellis earned first place in both Computer Science and Accounting. Grason Edens earned second place in Computer Science. James Bunker earned second place in Mathematics. Ada Niederhauser brought home second place for News Writing and fifth place for Editing and Copy Editing. Georgia McMahan brought home the silver place medal in Social Studies. Galilea Soto earned third place in Editorial Writing, fourth place in Headline Writing, and sixth place in both Editing &Copy Editing and Literary Criticism. Zachary Swain came in fourth in Computer Science. Alvaro Loza earned fourth place in both Mathematics & Number Sense. Grace Bateman performed in Prose and earned fifth place. Karma Mitchell wrote for Ready Writing and came in fifth. Lily Dent earned fifth place in Social Studies. Austin Ellis, Grason Edens & Zach Swain make up the Computer Science Team and they place first. Georgia McMahan. Lily Dent, Kai Gay & Ada Neiderhauser comprise the Social Studies Team and they earned second place. And finally bringing home second place for the Mathematics Team were James Bunker, Alvaro Loza, Michelle Bustillos & Nathan Ellis. Congratulations to these students who are accomplishing more to reach high goals! We are proud of you!
