The LISD Board of Trustees announces they have selected Dr. Don Heseman as the lone finalist for Levelland ISD Superintendent in a called meeting on July 28th, 2025. LISD Board President Carrie Ellis says, "After a thorough and thoughtful search process, we are excited to name Dr. Donald Heseman as our Lone Finalist. We believe his leadership will help us build on the strengths of our district while continuing to focus on student success & community engagement." He served as the Superintendent at West Hardin CISD. Heseman has over a decade of experience in educational leadership, serving in various roles throughout his career, including teacher and coach, as well as assistant principal and principal in several Texas school districts. He earned a Bachelor's degree in History with a minor in Secondary Education from Texas Tech University in 2008 and a Master's degree in Educational Leadership from Lamar University in 2016. He earned his Doctorate in Education Administration from Lamar University in 2024. Because of his extensive experience in public education, he has achieved significant success in turning around deficit budgets. We are excited to announce that he will shape the future of LISD and build upon our strong foundation of excellence, empowering students. Dr. Heseman states, "I feel honored to be named the Lone Finalist for Superintendent of Levelland ISD. I am grateful to the Board of Trustees for their trust and confidence in me, and I look forward to working alongside the talented staff, dedicated families, and supportive community of Levelland. LISD Interim Superintendent David Foote says, "It is an exciting time for Levelland ISD in the naming of Dr. Donald Heseman as the Lone Finalist for the Superintendent position. The School Board spent many hours interviewing and deliberating on this decision. Levelland is getting a good family as well as an outstanding leader. I think the future is very bright for Levelland ISD under Dr. Hessman's leadership." Dr. Heseman is coming to us with his wife and three children. We are excited to meet them all!
