Global Festival

Thanks to The Wallace and South Plains College International students, our Capitol and South second graders traveled around the world in one day! They didn't an airplane, but they had a passport and a world of adventure waiting for them at the Global Festival. With their Global Passports in hand, students traveled from Africa to Italy, Asia, the British Isles, France, Colombia, Mexico, Vietnam, and beyond! At every destination, they collected passport stamps while discovering new cultures, traditions, foods, and customs! From tasting international treats and creating colorful crafts to making piñatas and getting their faces painted, every stop offered a new adventure! But the greatest lesson wasn't just about geography. Our young travelers discovered that while people around the world may speak different languages, eat different foods, and celebrate different traditions, we all have something special to share! Learning about other cultures helps us appreciate our differences, respect one another, and understand the world beyond our own community. We send out a huge thank-you to The Wallace, South Plains College, and the SPC International Students Association for bringing the world to our students! What an unforgettable way to learn and find their place right here in LISD! Video
